San Mateo, Calif. - Bernice Conklin, 85, died Saturday, July 15, 2000 at Sonora, Calif.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 19 at Sneider & Sullivan Funeral Home in San Mateo, Calif. Interment was in Skylawn Memorial Park.
Bernice Eleanor Rustad was born in Thief River Falls, the daughter of Edwin and Lena Rustad. She was raised in Thief River Falls and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1933.
Bernice met Ronald J. Conklin in Aberdeen, S.D. and the couple married in 1942 in San Francisco, Calif. Bernice had been a resident of San Mateo, Calif. since 1978.
She was a Den Mother for Shriner's Hospital in San Francisco and a member of Sunset Lionettes and The 49er Club.
Survivors include two sons, William Conklin and Rodney Conklin; one daughter, Claudia Conklin; two daughters-in-law, Barbara and Debi; and six grandchildren. Local survivors include her sister-in-law, Florence Rustad of Grand Forks, N.D., and niece, Patty Rustad of Thief River Falls.
Bernice was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three brothers, Arnold, Lloyd and Bud; and one sister, Irene Wentz. A00003B2000AG02
