
Grygla - Lloyd "Mike" Clausen, 82, died Tuesday, June 30, 1998 at Dakota Heartland Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 3 at Grace Lutheran Church in Grygla with Reverend Mitchell Dennis officiating. Joy Nordby was the organist. All of Lloyd's grandchildren were casketbearers. Burial was in St. Petri Lutheran Church Cemetery in Valley township of Marshall county. The Green Funeral Home of Thief River Falls was in charge of the arrangements.
Lloyd William Clausen was born on October 21, 1915 in Radium, the son of Christ and Oline (Engelstad) Clausen. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith and attended school in Radium. Mike moved with his parents to Grygla in 1934 where he farmed with his father.
On June 11, 1944 he was united in marriage to Arlene Peterson at Grygla. He farmed all of his life. Mike also drove school bus for the Grygla School District for 20 years.
He enjoyed horses, storytelling, working on machinery, cutting wood and inventing new and better ways of doing things. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Mike is survived by his wife, Arlene of Grygla; four sons, Harlan (Barbara) of Bloomington, Jim (Bonnie) of Prior Lake, Danny (Jane) of Minneapolis and Curtis of Prior Lake; four daughters, Karen (Rick) Boatman of Marshfield, MO, Bonnie (Roland) Paquin of Esko, Susan (Rich) Cwikla of West Fargo, ND and Joan (Darryl) Rice of Duluth; seventeen grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; a twin brother, Floyd "Pat," in infancy; four sisters, Mary Hill, Dorothy Dyrseth, Ruby Holbrook and Lila Galli; and two brothers, Emil Clausen and Floyd Christian Clausen.
