Evelyn Clausen, 85

ÝÝÝErskine - Evelyn Clausen, 85, of Erskine, died on Monday, August 30 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine.

ÝÝÝThere will be no services. The Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston assisted the family with arrangements.

ÝÝÝEvelyn Tressa Meinerts was born on February 10, 1919 in Raymond, to parents Harry, Sr. and Myrtle (Truehl) Meinerts. In 1927 she moved with her family to Erskine, where she grew up and attended Foot Lake School.

ÝÝÝShe was united in marriage to Andrew Clausen on November 30, 1935. They lived in Erskine until 1947 when they moved to Karlstad, and then to Plummer, in 1950. They returned to Erskine in 1967.

ÝÝÝEvelyn was a devoted mother and housewife and a wonderful cook. She was a terrific seamstress, sewing clothes for herself and five daughters.

ÝÝÝEvelyn entered the Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine in January of 2000 and passed away on August 30, 2004 at the age of 85.

ÝÝÝEvelyn is survived by five daughters, Barbara Johnstone of Erskine, Judith Lindseth of McIntosh, Sandra (Robert) Swanson of Gatzke, Faith Vierzba of Rio Ranch, N.M., and Diane (Robert) Olson of Garland, Texas; two sisters, Margaret Norling and Audrey Borgen, both of Erskine; and her favorite nephew, Michael (Rita) Stenlund of Albany; thirteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

ÝÝÝShe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Andrew; three infant sons, Frances, Morris and David; one sister, Darlene Stenlund; two brothers, Ted and Harry, Jr. Meinerts; one nephew, David Stenlund; one infant grandson; and one infant great-grandson.
