
Red Lake Falls - Alice Christianson, 94, died Thursday, November 16, 2000 at Riverview Nursing Home in Crookston.
Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, November 21 at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls with Father Dennis Wieland officiating. Val Gagnon was the organist, and special music was provided by St. Joseph's Church Choir. Casketbearers were Alice's sons Lloyd Demarais Jr., Robert Demarais, Louis Demarais, Curtis Demarais, Richard Demarais, Bernard Demarais and Michael Demarais. Interment was in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Red Lake Falls with Johnson Funeral Service of Red Lake Falls in charge of the arrangements.
Alice Margaret Bombardier was born on May 1, 1906 in Polk county, the daughter of Cleophas and Delima (Breault) Bombardier. She attended a country school and helped care for her mother, brothers and sisters at home.
She was married to Lloyd Demarais on June 11, 1928. Lloyd died April 27, 1997. Her second marriage was to Carl Christianson on June 30, 1965. He died on March 25, 1984. Alice had been a resident of Red Lake county prior to becoming a resident of Riverview Nursing Home in Crookston.
She enjoyed music and dancing.
Alice is survived by seven sons, Louis (Agnes) Demarais Jr. of Rochester, Robert (Elaine) Demarais of South Milwaukee, Wisc., Louis (Gloria) Demarais of Hazen, N.D., Curtis Demarais of Fargo, N.D., Richard (Alice) Demarais of Lawton, Okla., Bernard (Janice) Demarais of Mesa, Ariz. and Michael (Janet) Demarais of Blaine; four daughters, Kathleen (Gordon) Gunderson of Milwaukee, Wisc., Ann (Constantine) Chioles of Barrington, Ill., Celeste Kibbee of Denver, Colo. and Judy (Eugene) Bauer of Wilson, Wisc.; two sisters, Evelyn Scully and Ceciel Dubuque, both of Crookston; a brother, Robert (Florence) Bombardier of Crookston; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband and parents, Alice was preceded in death by two daughters, Audrey Lanoff and Janyce Taylor; two sisters, Leona Seper and Ursula Seper; and two brothers, Maurice and Harvey Bombardier. A00003B2000NV22
