Golden Valley - Lillian Margaret Carlson, 86, died March 9, 1997 in Golden Valley. Arrangements were with Albin Chapel.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 14 at Trinity Covenant Church of Crystal. Burial was in Dassel Cemetery.
Casketbearers were her grandchildren: Jonathan Carlson, Kristin Carlson, Timothy Carlson, Peter Carlson, March Goodrich, Kathy Sigurdson, Ann Johnson, Craig Goodrich, David Carlson, Brian Carlson, Allen Carlson, Bret Romfo, Jennifer Romfo, Rebecca Carlson, Benjamin Carlson, Rachel Carlson, Jennifer Carlson, Jesse Carlson, Heather Carlson and Christy Carlson.
Lillian was born on October 7, 1910 in Minneapolis. She was a 1933 graduate of Swedish Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis. In October of 1933 she was united in marriage to Dr. Arvid Carlson in Moose Lake. Dr. Carlson was a practicing physician in Warren for 35 years until 1968 when they moved to Fargo, ND where her husband was a medical officer at the Veteran's Hospital for six years, then retiring to a home on Lake Erie in the Dassel-Hutchinson area. After Arvid's death in 1978, Lillian moved to Covenant Manor in Golden Valley, then Heritage House for assisted living and to Colonial Acres nursing home six months later.
She is survived by children Ruth (Don) Goodrich of Thief River Falls, Rachel (Tom) Romfo of Mishawaka, IN, Paul (Rosalie) of Shorewood, Phil (Sharon) of Golden Valley, Dan (Diane) of Waconia, Gordon (Paula) of Highbridge, WI and Mark (Kathy) of Blue Springs, MO; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sister Elaine (Arnold) Johnson of Visalia, CA; brother LeRoy (Ebba) Hellerstedt of Moose Lake; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Arvid E. Carlson; grandson Steven Goodrich; brothers Donald Lidberg and Glen Hellerstedt; and sister Eleanor Lidberg.
