Debby Carlson, 48

Karlstad - Debby Carlson, 48, died Tuesday, October 17, 2000 at her home in Karlstad.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, at Eidsvold Lutheran Church in Halma with Rev. Gary Halverson officiating. Special music was provided by Corienne Jacobson, organist, and Marjorie Hawk, soloist. Casketbearers were Rod Sele, Steve Sele, Jon Sele, Wayne Klegstad, Gary Klegstad, Kevin Gunderson, Danny Sele and Brian Sele. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery at Lake Bronson with Hughes Funeral Home of Hallock in charge of the arrangements.

Debra Lou Sele was born on September 29, 1952 in Hallock, the daughter of Thorvald and Mildred (Vagle) Sele. She grew up in Lake Bronson and graduated from Karlstad High School in 1970.

In November of 1971, Debby married Jerry Carlson at Lake Bronson. She worked at the Arctic Cat Garment Center in Karlstad and later at the main plant in Thief River Falls. She also cooked at the Lantern Cafe in Thief River Falls and the Sunny Day Cafe in Karlstad. Debby retired several years ago due to failing health.

She was a member of Eidsvold Lutheran Church of Halma.

Debby is survived by a son, Neil Carlson of Karlstad; two brothers, Wally (Martha) Sele of Fridley and Rick (Patty) Sele of Lake Bronson; two sisters, Darlene Gustafson of Bloomington and Sharon (Duane) Klegstad of Warren; her companion, Bradley Kranz of Halma; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Carl Billings; and a brother, Glenn, who died on September 20, 2000. A00003B2000OC25
