Juanita Cahill, 56

Bemidji - Juanita Cahill, 56, died Friday, August 14, 1998 at North Country Hospital in Bemidji.

Mass of Christian burial will be held today (Wednesday, August 19) at 10 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church of Moose Lake with Father Michael Hayes as celebrant. Joanne Unzen and Deb Butkiewicz will provide the music. Casketbearers will be Mike Poole, Larry Dimmen, Dennis Severson, Tom Tribby, Gene Magnan and Tim Myers. Burial will be held in Riverside Cemetery in Kerrick township. The Hamlin-Hansen- Kosloski Funeral Home of Moose Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Juanita Marie Magnan was born on June 15, 1942 in Thief River Falls, the daughter of Ed and RuVella (Leslin) Magnan. She grew up in Thief River Falls and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1960. She later moved to the Twin Cities.

On December 31, 1961 she was united in marriage to Patrick Cahill in St. Paul. The couple made their home in the Twin Cities until 1970 when they moved to Duquette. Juanite worked as a social worker for Moose Lake State Hospital for 23 years. They later moved to LaPorte where she worked as a social worker for Awg-Gwah-Ching. After Juanita retired in 1997 the couple moved to Bemidji.

She enjoyed making handmade quilts, camping, traveling and fishing.

Juanita is survived by her husband, Patrick; three daughters, Brenda (Tom) Tribby of Finlayson, Lisa (Tim) Myers of Minneapolis and Michele (Dennis) Severson of South Range, WI; five grandchildren; one sister, Joan Hoffman of Pinewood; and one brother, Gene (Susan) Magnan of Somerset, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, LeRoy Magnan, George Magnan and Jerry Magnan.
