Linda Brown, 53

Thief River Falls - Linda Brown, 53, died Sunday, July 4, 1999 in her camper at a campsite in Warren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today (Wednesday, July 7) at First Baptist Church in Thief River Falls with Pastor Ron Gullman officiating. Gloria Lee will be the organist, and special music will be provided by soloists Diane Gullman and Twyla Hicks. Casketbearers will be Norm Halsa, Dudley Johnson, Gary Johnson, Richard Johnson, Sherman Johnson and Ron Moen. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.

Visitation was held from noon to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 6 at Green Funeral Home with a 7 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at the church.

Linda Marie Johnson was born on November 1, 1945 in Thief River Falls, the daughter of Andrew and Lucille (Hagness) Johnson. She was brought up in the Christian faith at the Evangelical Free Church. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1963.

On July 27, 1963 Linda was united in marriage to Duane Brown in Thief River Falls. The couple had two children, and Linda worked at various full-time and part-time jobs over the years. Duane died on Feburary 13, 1999.

The family enjoyed camping, traveling and spending time at their vacation home on Pine Lake. Linda also enjoyed bowling, crafts, flower gardening and decorating.

Linda is survived by her mother, Lucille Johnson of Thief River Falls; one son, Kevin (Carol) Brown of Thief River Falls; one daughter, Kristi (Mark) Appell of Redwood Falls; four grandchildren; four brothers, Sherman (Mona) and Gary (Shelva), both of Thief River Falls, Dudley (Judy) of St. Paul, and Richard (Esther) of Thief River Falls; one sister-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her father; one brother, Glenn Johnson; and two nieces.
