Strandquist - Wesley Bring, 59, died Monday, January 24, 2000 as the result of a farm accident in West Valley township of Marshall county.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 28 at Westaker Free Lutheran Church in Newfolden with Rev. Ken Thoreson and Rev. Philip Rokke officiating. Orpha Schaffhauser was the organist, and the soloist was Wendy Blazejewski.

Casketbearers were Roger Bring, Dennis Hjelle, Gerald Hanson, Randy Anderson, John Rokke and Howard Rokke. Honorary casketbearers were Edward Carlson, Eldor Westman, Milford Rokke, Dennis Bakke, Robert Dahl and Jim Engelsrud. Burial will be in Bethania Cemetery in Marsh Grove township of Marshall county. The Green Funeral Home of Thief River Falls was in charge of the arrangements.

Wesley Russel Bring was born on January 10, 1941 in Karlstad, the son of Gust and Louise (Haarstad) Bring. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethesda Lutheran Church. Wesley attended elementary school through the fifth grade at the elementary school in West Valley township and then attended school in Newfolden, graduating from Newfolden High School in 1959. He worked at the Agsco Fertilizer Plant in East Grand Forks for six months and later for Leonard Hapka near Argyle for several years.

On October 18, 1969 he was united in marriage to Sharon Holmstrom at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Newfolden. The couple dairy and grain farmed in West Valley township of Marshall county.

Wesley served on the Middle River Livestock Shipping Association board for several years. He received the Dairyman's Award in 1992 and the Family Farm Award in 1996.

He was a member of the Bethania Free Lutheran Church until it closed and was presently attending the Alma Free Lutheran Church.

Wesley is survived by his wife, Sharon; one daughter, Tiffany at home; four sons, Jeffrey Bring of Strandquist, Mike (Carol) Bring of Newfolden, Jason Bring of Newfolden and Jeremy Bring of Strandquist; one sister, Marlene (Howard) Rutherford of East Grand Forks; two brothers, Lowell (Muriel) Bring of Stephen and Derril (Doris) Bring of Grand Forks, ND; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Tom Rutherford in 1997. A00003B2000FB02
