Jesse Brekke, 14

Oklee - Jesse Brekke, 14, of rural Oklee died Sunday, June 22, l997 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.

Funeral services were held Thursday, June 26 at 2 p.m. at the Oklee High School with Reverend Robert Paulson officiating. Music was provided by Dale Blatter on the banjo and Jeff Menten playing the violin. Ushers were Charlie Johnson and Elmer Hanson. Arlan Fore was the bell ringer. Casketbearers were Phillip Wold, Peter Wold, Bruce Wold, Dale Brekke, Randy Brekke, Jim Vedbraaten and Roger Vedbraaten. Jesse's brothers Troy, Alex, Kelly and Kevin Brekke and his class of 2001 were the honorary casket- bearers. Burial was held in the Clearwater Cemetery near Oklee. Arrangements were with the Petterson Funeral Home.

Jesse Allan Brekke was born September 30, l982 in Thief River Falls the son of Arlen and Deb (Wold) Brekke. He was raised in Oklee where he attended school. He was baptized at Clearwater Lutheran Church and was attending confirmation classes at Salem Lutheran Church near Oklee. Jesse enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing the banjo, building with Lego blocks and horseback riding. He was a member of the Happy Riders 4-H Club.

He is survived by his parents, Arlen and Deb Brekke of rural Oklee; four brothers, Troy, Alex, Kelly and Kevin, all at home; grandmother, Mavis Brekke; God- parent, Dale Brekke; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jesse was preceded in death by his grandfather, Arlie Brekke; grandparents/God-parents, Ingvald and Minnie Wold; two uncles and three great-uncles.
