
Thief River Falls - Sadie Boutain, 84, died Sunday, December 5, 1999 at the CNC unit of Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. today (Wednesday, December 8) at Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls with Rev. Dennis Wieland officiating. Julie Pearson will be the organist and soloist. Casketbearers will be Chad Grindeland, Rodney Boutain, Robert Hamlin, Brian Boutain, Todd Kezar, Wayne Boutain, Michael Hamms and Darrell Boutain. Honorary casketbearers will be all of Sadie's grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. Burial will be in St. Dorothy's Cemetery in Dorothy.
Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 7 at Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls.
Sadie Mavis Wilson was born on August 28, 1915 in Milford, IA, the daughter of Frank and Eva (Powers) Wilson. She was baptized in the Christian faith and as a young girl moved with her family to a farm near Euclid where she attended country school.
On December 17, 1931 she was united in marriage to Alexander Boutain at Dorothy. The couple made their home on a farm in Red Lake county east of Dorothy, farming until 1957. They also managed a bar in Wylie for a few years. In the early 1960s they moved to Thief River Falls where they made their home.
Sadie worked at Kife's Cafe, Bottems' Rest Home and Arctic Cat.
She enjoyed making quilts and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Sadie is survived by 12 children, Raymond (Janet) Boutain of Hankinson, ND, Wilford (Pat) Boutain of Princeton, Alexander "Poncho" (Donna) Boutain of Duluth, Clarence (Vorona) Boutain of Coon Rapids, Lawrence (Evie) Boutain of Goodridge, Jim (Kaye) Boutain of Red Lake Falls, Ronnie (Nancy) Boutain of Camden, TN, Sharon Grindeland of Thief River Falls, Virgil (Jenny) Boutain of Plummer, Margaret (Forest) Hamms of Thief River Falls, Mary (Dave) Sweno of Oklee and Linda Hamlin of Thief River Falls; 54 grandchildren; 79 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Boutain of Cudahy, WI and Jessie Mills of Northome; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander in 1980; parents; one daughter, Darlene; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A00003B1999DC08
