Arthur Bossman, 78

Warren - Arthur W. Bossman, 78, died Monday, December 8, 1997 at North Valley Health Center in Warren.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 11 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Warren. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery in Warren. The Quanrud-DuBore Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Arthur Bossman was born on December 11, 1918 in Portland, Oregon. At an early age he moved to Warren to live with his grandmother, Hannah Bossman, and his aunt, Florence Bossman. He was a life-long resident of Warren where he also attended school.

On December 21, 1937, Art married Doris Mae Bengtson in Warren. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a 50-year member of the Warren American Legion Post 27 and was also a Commander of the Nineth District American Legion. He worked as a brick mason for 50 years and for the past 16 years had been the Veterans Service officer for Marshall County.

A member of the Evangelical Covenant Church, Art served as an usher and as a member of both the deacon and trustee boards. He was very active in the Warren community serving throughout his life as a volunteer fireman, past Lions Club member, City Council member and Warren Centennial Committee chairman.

Art is survived by his wife, Doris; two daughters, Pat Hines of Moorhead and Beryl (Kendall) Truhn of Warren; two sons, Robert (Deanne) and Arthur "Bill" Jr. (Yvonne), both of Warren; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandmother Hannah Bossman; aunt Florence Bossman; one sister, Leah Bossman Pahl; one brother, Beryle Bossman; and one infant son, John Bennett.
