Jack Booren, 81

Denver, Colo. - Jack Booren, 81, died Friday, March 10, 2000.

Services were held on Tuesday, March 14, at Wellshire Presbyterian Church. Interment was in Wellshire Memorial Garden.

Jack Carleton Booren was born on April 30, 1918 in Thief River Falls. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1936. On November 14, 1941, he married Helen Louise Patton.

Jack was an Army medic during World War II. He practiced medicine in Duluth and was on staff at Swedish Medical Center and Porter Hospital. He specialized in allergy and asthma medicine research and development.

Jack co-founded the Schlessman YMCA and served on its board of directors.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Libbie Louise of Cordova, Alaska; three sons, Mark of Denver, Colo. and Jeff and John, both of Portland, Ore.; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, Lynn of Fort Collins, Colo. A00003B2000JN21
