Gordon Bondy, 87

Drayton, ND - Gordon "G.K." Bondy, 87, died Tuesday, January 11, 2000 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 15 at Drayton Lutheran Church in Drayton, ND. Providing music were organist Murial Paulson and soloist Mary Bakken. Casketbearers were his grandchildren, Brett Morrison, Blair Morrison, Brad Morrison, Brian Morrison, Joshua Bondy, Geneva Bondy, Eric Bondy, Mark Bondy and Melissa John. Interment was in the Drayton City Cemetery with the Adamson-Austin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Gordon Kingdon Bondy was born on January 3, 1913 at Battle Lake, the son of Alfred and Geneva (Berge) Bondy. He attended school at Battle Lake and also attended Concordia College at Moorhead.

On June 25, 1937 he was united in marriage to Florence Marion Myster at Drayton. They lived in Wheaton and Thief River Falls before moving to Drayton in 1938. G.K. was in business in Drayton for 57 years, during which time he was a partner in Raney-Bondy Implement, owned and operated Bondy Implement and more recently, Bondy's Carquest Auto Parts.

G.K. continued to be an active member of the community until the time of his death and was a member of Drayton Lutheran Church. He was the last original member of Drayton Improvements, Inc. formed in 1948 and was honored with an award from that organization this past year. He was active in the Masons, Shriners and served as a Boy Scout leader for many years. He was also one of the original members of the Manitoba Curling Association.

He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman and curler. He especially enjoyed spending time with family.

G.K. is survived by two sons, Dennis (Snooki) Bondy of Thief River Falls and Bruce (Cindy) Bondy of Stephen; one daughter, Carol Morrison of Northwood, ND; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Florence in 1992.
