
Roseau - Rollie Boldt, 54, died Sunday, February 28, 1999 at his home in Roseau.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 8 at Moe Lutheran Church in Roseau with Reverend John Martinson and Reverend Erling Huglen officiating. The Helgeson Funeral Chapel of Roseau was in charge of the arrangements.
Rollie Van Boldt was born on May 27, 1944 at White Earth, the son of Roosevelt and Ida (Smith) Boldt. He attended elementary school at Pine Point and graduated from Park Rapids High School in 1962. He attended college at Moorhead State College and graduated from Bemidji State College in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. In 1982 he received his Masters Degree in counseling.
On December 14, 1968 he was united in marriage to Marsha Fairbanks at Bemidji. For the past 15 years he has worked at Northland Community and Technical College in Thief River Falls.
Rollie enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid sports fan, especially enjoying hockey. He was a member of the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe, past president of Northwest Indian Counselors Association and a member of the Northwest Counselors Association.
He is survived by his wife, Marsha of Roseau; two sons, Hunter and Ross, both of Roseau; four sisters, Betty Burlington of Duluth, Pauline (Don) Vizenor of Ponsford, Carol Haro of Bemidji and Susie (Wayne) Wolfe of Lac de Flambeau, WI; and one brother, Don (Maria) Boldt of Ronan, MT.
Rollie was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers. A00003B1999MR10
