Thief River Falls - Edith Blahauvietz, 78, died Tuesday, June 13, 2000 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services
were held on
Saturday, June 17,
at 11 a.m. at United Lutheran Church in Gatzke with Rev. Sandra
Hollands officiating. Gloria Sistad was the organist, and the soloist
was Lois Anderson. Casketbearers were Scott Blahauvietz, Sara
Blahauvietz, Brett Tieman, Andrea Tieman, Ken Larson and Ethel
Erickson. Interment was in First Lutheran Cemetery in Spruce Valley
township of Marshall county near Middle River.
Edith Ingalls was born on December 18, 1921, in Spruce Valley township of Marshall county, the daughter of E.L. "Roy" and Anna (Magnuson) Ingalls. She attended grade school in Spruce Valley township and attended high school in Middle River, graduating in 1939.
On May 23, 1941, Edith was united in marriage to Lyle Blahauvietz at Holt. Following World War II, they moved to the Gatzke area where they lived for several years. Edith worked at the Land O'Lakes turkey plant and then with Marshall county senior citizens. She later worked part-time at the Gatzke Post Office. In 1993, Lyle and Edith moved to Thief River Falls. Lyle died in 1996.
Edith was an active member of United Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid. She was also a leader of the Gatzke Busy Beavers 4-H Club and was involved with the Gatzke Senior Citizens.
She enjoyed visiting with family and friends.
Edith is survived by one son, Larry (Diane) Blahauvietz of Siren Wisc.; one daughter, Lenay (Wayne) Tieman of Cavalier, N.D.; foster child, Donna McNally of King of Prussia, Penn; four grandchildren; five sisters, Mabel Tunheim and Ellen Erickson, both of Warren, Gladys (Anfin) Blaksvedt of Mound, Cora (Alvin) Ravndalen of Roosevelt and Betty Ingalls of Winona; one brother, Clarence (Allene) Ingalls of Morrison, Tenn.; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was receded in death by her parents; husband; three infant sisters, Edith, Anna and baby girl; and two brothers, William and Arsa. A00003B2000JN21
