Florence Bendickson, 83

Crookston - Florence M. Bendickson, 83, formerly of Trail, died Thursday, November 26, 1998 at Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home in Crookston.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 1 at Sand Valley Lutheran Church in Trail with Reverend David Jay Webber officiating. Kathy Bakke was the organist. Casketbearers were Matt Clark, Richard Clark, Daryl Schumacher, Vernon Voeltz, Howard Flateland and Lynn Forsberg. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, rural Trail, in the spring. The Petterson Funeral Home of Oklee was in charge of the arrangements.

Florence Offenbacker was born on December 14, 1914 at Alexander, ND, the daughter of Harley and Marie (Gwinn) Offenbacker. As a young girl she moved with her family to Minneapolis where she lived for a short time before moving to Plummer where she graduated from high school.

On December 22, 1934 she was united in marriage to Conrad Bendickson in Oklee. The couple farmed and made their home in Equality township. Florence worked as a nurse's aid at Northwest Medical Center for many years. Conrad died on September 24, 1988. In June of 1994 Florence entered the Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home in Crookston where she continued to reside until the time of her death.

Florence is survived by two sons, Clyde Bendickson of Lavina, MT and James Bendickson of rural Trail; three daughters, Marcia (Dennis) Skorczewski of Minneapolis; Ida Mae Breitzman of Faribault and Barbara Forsberg of Thief River Falls; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one brother, Karl Offenbacker.
