Thief River Falls - Deloris Bernette Brandon, 75, died at Oakland Park on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 7 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Thief Lake, with Pastor Cheryl Berg offficiating. Deloris Bernette Brandon was born April 29, 1936, in Thief River Falls, the daughter of Oscar and Helga (Johnson) Brandon. She was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church at Thief Lake. She grew up on the family farm east of Middle River where she attended country school and graduated from Middle River High School in 1954. Deloris was a nurses’ aid in Thief River Falls for a few years. When she was diagnosed with epilepsy after a few years working, she spent the rest of her years in nursing homes, ending up in Oakland Park Nursing Home where she was known as the first patient in the new home. They treated her well there and she enjoyed the attention and kindness of the nurses. Deloris is survived by two brothers: Harold (Jean) Brandon, of Middle River, and Darrell (Avis) Brandon of Thief River Falls; brother-in-law: Kermit Kemnitz, also of Thief River Falls; in addition to many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
