Bemidji - Dorothy Mae McLaughlin, 84 of Bemidji, died Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center in Bemidji. Memorial services were held Tuesday, Feb. 7 at the St. Philip’s Catholic Church in Bemidji, with Fr. Don Braukmann officiating. Interment was held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Bemidji under the direction of Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji. Dorothy was born March 9, 1927 in Thief River Falls, the daughter of Charles and Alice (Hruby) Habedank. She attended Country School in the Thief River Falls area and graduated from Goodridge High School in 1943. She married Arthur Augustus McLaughlin on Aug. 31, 1947 in Thief River Falls. She worked for Northwest Technical College for 8½ years. She was a member of and volunteered for the hot lunch program at St. Philip’s Catholic Church and also volunteered for the Crippled Children’s Clinic in Bemidji. She is survived by her husband: Arthur A. McLaughlin of Bemidji; daughters: Dianne Laughter of Tenino, Wash., Nancy (Don) Cardwell of Chanhassen; sons: Arthur (Linda) C. McLaughlin of Yuma, Ariz., Les (Theresa) McLaughlin of Myakka City, Fla.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
