Victoria Dorothy Amiot was born on Oct. 21, 1933 in Gentilly, the 13th of 15 children born to Armand and Liza (Corbin) Amiot. She was baptized into the Catholic faith in Gentilly. Vicki attended Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls.
In 1951, Vicki was united in marriage to Emory Michalson and to this union, two children, Thana and Steven were born.
On June 21, 1959 Vicki married the love of her life, Joseph “Jerry” Hermes, and to this union one son, Greg was born.  With Jerry’s service in the United States Air Force, the family lived at multiple military installations throughout the world.
After retiring from the military, the family lived in various Minnesota communities and finally settled in Grand Rapids in the late 1970s. This is when Vicki began her long career managing apartments for Cam and Eileen Sanders, which also led to a great relationship. This work/friendship lasted throughout the remainder of her life.
In the early 1990’s, Vicki moved to Thief River Falls, where she managed the Country Acres Apartments and to be with her siblings. She continued to manage the apartments until her stroke in March 2011. Vicki then made her home at Oakland Park Communities in Thief River Falls, where she truly enjoyed the loving care and the bantering with her caregivers.
Vicki enjoyed cooking, baking, traveling with “the girls” (her sisters), bingo and casino junkets. Vicki was a very fun, witty, humorous, sarcastic, and hospitable person.  Family and friends have always been very important to Vicki, and she enjoyed sharing her time and her cooking talents with them.  She also loved spending time with her girlfriends who were known on occasion to gamble, play cards, and just have fun together.
She was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thief River Falls. Vicki was an active member of the Heritage Center in Thief River Falls, which was a very important part of her life.
