Oakland, Calif. - Alice Agnes (Mackenroth) Severson, 93, passed away at the Eden Medical Center in Oakland, Calif., on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012 from complications of pneumonia.
Alice was born on March 27, 1918 in Perham, to her parents Frank and Dorothy (Hulick) Mackenroth. She met her husband to be Oliver "Ollie" Severson in Thief River Falls. They were married on Jan. 20, 1936 and soon after moved to California, where they spent their remaining years together until Ollie passed away in 1979.
Alice worked many years for the Sunshine Biscuit Co. of Oakland until her retirement. Alice was a vibrant, energetic person all her life. She especially enjoyed long walks, working in her flower garden and traveling.
Alice is survived by her two children, Jack (Connie) Severson, Loretta (Baxter) Kiser; her grandchildren, David (Norma) Severson, Lori (Alan) Jacques and great grandson Daniel Severson. She is also survived by her two half brothers, Lauris Krogstad of Minnesota and Edward Krogstad; and eleven nephews and nieces.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Dorothy (Hulick) Mackenroth; her brothers, Edward and George Mackenroth; and her sister, Trassia (Mackenroth) Noel of Minnesota.
