Thief River Falls - Glenda Bentow, 66, of Thief River Falls, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, at her home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 3 at Grace Evangelical Church in Strathcona, with Pastor Bob Ludwig officiating. Interment was held at the Lorenson Cemetery near Strathcona.
Glenda Kaye Bentow, the daughter of the late Wayne and Lola (Johnson) Sowers, was born on Sept. 6, 1945, Chehalis, Wash. She was raised at South Bend, Wash., graduating from South Bend High School in 1963.
On June 28, 1963, Glenda was united in marriage to Dale Bentow at South Bend. They later moved to Strathcona, and in 1972, to their present home near Thief River Falls. Glenda worked at Arctic Enterprises in Thief River Falls in the early 1970s and in the late 1970s went to work in the kitchen at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls. In the 1990s, Glenda quit to go out on the road with Dale as he worked for Border States Paving. She loved the time she was able to spend with Dale. She loved to cook, read, crochet and garden, and especially loved spending time with her children, grandkids and her pal, Lady Bug.
She is survived by her husband, Dale; one daughter: Lori (Royce) Jawaski, of Horace, N.D.; two sons: Darren (Becky) and William (Charity), both of Thief River Falls; three grandchildren: Dustin, Amy and Brandon Bentow; her sister: Pamela (William) Brown, of Spanaway, Wash.; one brother: David (Evelyn) Sowers, of Yuma, Ariz.; in addition to many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents.
