Plummer - Wayne Tronnes, 64, of Plummer, died on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011 at Sanford Medical Center in Thief River Falls. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plummer, with Rev. Jonathan Dodson officiating. Casket bearers include Bill Traxler, Bob Traxler, Al Olson, Nancy Olson, Roy Holmes and Glen Ueland. Honorary casket bearers include Robert Sharpe, Ray Malmlov, Gene Dybing, Gene Ueland, Jerry Floberg, Vernon “Speed” Nelson, Larry Ronning, Ronnie Wollertson, Larry Strand, Steven Anderson, Will and Karen Carter, and all of Wayne’s family and friends. Interment will follow at Emardville Cemetery, Plummer. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service on Thursday, Dec. 8, at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, and also one hour prior to the funeral service on Friday at the church. Wayne Arthur Tronnes was born on May 6, 1947, in Brainerd, the son of Roy V. Tronnes and Dorothy (Frehse) Tronnes. He was baptized in the Lutheran Faith in Hinckley. When Wayne was a young boy, his parents died. He and his younger brother, Roy, were adopted by their great uncle and aunt, Andrew and Bena (Flikke) Tronnes. Andrew and Bena raised the boys in Shelly. Their sister, Deborah Ann was adopted by their uncle, Emil Tronnes, and was raised in Bloomington. Wayne was confirmed in the Lutheran Faith in Shelly. He attended school in Climax, graduating from Climax High School in 1965. Following high school, Wayne enlisted with the Air National Guard from 1967 until 1973. In 1970, Wayne was united in marriage to Barbara Malme in Shelly. The couple was blessed with two children: Matthew and Tyler. They made their home and raised their boys in the Shelly area. While living there he farmed for many years. Wayne moved to Plummer in 1990. This is where he met Anne Traxler, who became his longtime girlfriend. Wayne and Anne enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and traveling together. He worked for Arctic Cat in Thief River Falls from 1992 to the present. Wayne loved spending time with his children, and grandchildren. He could often be found in his garden, collecting coins, or woodworking. It was Wayne’s lifelong goal to own a Corvette, and his wish came true in 2008 when he purchased a 1984 Corvette. Wayne is survived by his significant other, Anne Traxler of Plummer; children, Matthew Tronnes of Lake Park, and Tyler (Tess) Tronnes of Hudson, Wis.; Anne’s Children, Nancy (Al) Olson of Oklee, Bill (Deb) Traxler of Truman, Karen (Will) Carter of San Diego, Calif., and Bob (Laura) Traxler of Plummer; grandchildren, Adam and Abby Tronnes, Miranda Rominski, Brody and Brielle Traxler, and Xander Carter; brother, Roy Tronnes of Eureka Springs, Ark.; sister, Deborah (Spurgeon) Wiggins of Casopolis, Mich.; several extended family members including his cousins and Anne’s brother and sisters and their families as well as many other relatives and friends.
