Shelly - Marjorie Ann Aamodt, 59, of rural Shelly, died on Friday, April 15, 2005. She died peacefully in her home surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, April 19, 2005, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Halstad.
Interment was held at Augustana Cemetery in rural Halstad.
Marjorie was born on November 28, 1945, in Slayton, the daughter of Frank and Josephine (Krell) Pacholl. She attended parochial school in Wilmont, and graduated in 1963 from Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in Wilmont. After high school, she moved to Minneapolis.
Marge was united in marriage to Julian Aamodt on November 27, 1965, in Wilmont. While living in the Twin Cities, she worked for Control Data Corporation, Thermo King Corporation, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota. In 1976, Marge and Julian moved to Shelly.
She worked for the Halstad Living Center, Halstad, for 14 years, and from 1991 to 1999 at Noel’s Super Value in Halstad. She then returned to the Halstad Living Center and worked in the Heritage House until 2003. Marge was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Halstad.
Marge’s greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, putting many miles on her car to help out with babysitting or to attend school events, basketball games or wrestling tournaments. She especially enjoyed playing games with them and having fun things waiting for them in “Grandma’s Closet.” Marge had a talent when it came to home decorating projects and enjoyed planning gatherings for family and friends. She also enjoyed cross-stitching, gardening, and her flowers. She was known to always think of others and Marge’s family and friends “always came first.”
Marjorie is survived by her husband of 39 years, Julian; son Randy (Shelley) Aamodt, Thief River Falls; daughter Kelly (Roger) Bovee, Monticello; two brothers, Frank (Linda) Pacholl Jr., Groveland, Calif., and Glen (Laura) Pacholl, Aliso Viejo, Calif.; sister, Mary Jo Johnson, Fargo, N.D.; five grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Robert, and a nephew, Brent Leen.
