    Greenbush - Hilda Blazek, 91, of Greenbush, died on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011 at her home in LifeCare Assisted Living at Greenbush.
    Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, Aug. 25, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church of Greenbush, with Father Luis Buitron, officiating.   Casket Bearers were Craig Harbott, Allan Seydel, Kevin Kuznia, Adam Stusynski,  Donavan, Mark and Jason Blazek.  Honorary casket bearers were all of Hilda’s grandchildren. Interment was held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Cemetery.
    Hilda Blazek, was born Hilda Ardelle Thompson, the daughter of Charles & Carrie (Graff) Thompson, on Aug. 17, 1920 in Soler Township, Roseau County, north of Greenbush. She grew up and attended school there.  She married Jerrie E. Blazek on Nov. 25, 1937 in Blessed Sacrament Church of Greenbush by Father William Lemen.  They farmed at rural Greenbush for many years.  She also worked at the Greenbush Hospital and Nursing Home, the turkey plant in Greenbush, Dann’s Café and the V.F.W. in Badger, and she did adult foster care.
    Hilda loved baking and was well known for her delicious lefse, buns and donuts. She also liked to play cards, garden, canning, attend rummage sales and thrift stores, and polka dances.  She especially enjoyed playing games and spending time with her family. She had a loving spirit with open arms and she led a humor filled life.
    She is survived by her Children:  Shelva Harbott of Thief River Falls, Jerome Blazek of Greenbush, Betty (Roger) Waith of East Grand Forks, Mike (Valerie) Blazek of Washburn, N.D., Jennifer (Jim) McDonald of Roseau, Ann (Ames) Grisanti of Thief River Falls, Debbie (Roger) Hites of Pueblo, Colorado, Sarah (Philip) Kuznia of Argyle, Robert (Tracy) Blazek of Crookston, Carrie Blazek of Badger, and Mary Jo Larson of Thief River Falls; 108 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and one on the way; one sister-in-law, Helen Thompson of Roseau.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerrie Blazek on March 14, 1992; one son, Charles; one son-in-law, Eldon Harbott; and one grandson, Travis Berger; three brothers, Delford, Cambell and Belmer Thompson; five sisters, Alpha Jenson, Thelma Jenson, Belle Holm, Lizzie Kjersten &  Jennie Wickstrom.
 Gieseke Funeral Chapel of Greenbush was in charge of arrangements.
