 Thief River Falls - Anna“Pauline” Ptacek, 81, of Thief River Falls, MN, died on Monday, April 4, 2005 at the CNC unit of the Northwest Medical Center. 
  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, at New Life Family Worship Center in Thief River Falls, with Rev. William Rust officiating. Casket bearers included Nathan Ptacek, Derek Ptacek, Carissa Ptacek, Michelle Stemper, Tim Erickson, Mike Erickson and Chenny Hruby.  Interment will be held  at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls. 
 Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. 
 Anna Pauline Erickson was born April 6, 1923, in Warren, the daughter of John and Anna Pauline (Peterson) Erickson. “Pauline’s” mother died during her birth, and she was cared for by her aunt and uncle, Esther and Einar Johnson.  She was baptized and confirmed at the Covenant Church in Thief River Falls. Pauline attended school in Thief River Falls and completed her senior year of high school in Warren, graduating in 1942. She then attended nurse’s training in Fargo, N.D., and worked in a hospital. She worked at the Princeton Children’s Home for 2 years. She returned to Thief River Falls, where she lived with her parents, John and Esther until she married. Pauline worked as a dental hygienist/assistant for many years.  She then worked as an aid at Lincoln High School and at the Christian Academy.
 On September 15, 1958, Pauline was united in marriage to Archie Lloyd Ptacek in Thief River Falls. The couple built a home on a farm in Goodridge. Pauline became a resident of CNC, residing there since February 26, 1996.
 She was a member of New Life Family Worship Center, Thief River Falls and their Ladies Aid and also helped at Our Saviour’s Academy. She enjoyed crocheting, needle-work, crossword puzzles, working in the church nursery, yard work and mowing. She was dedicated to young children. 
 Survivors include four step-children, Wayne (Noi) Ptacek of Fairbanks, Alaska, Renae (Frank) Stemper of Becker, Dennis (Becky) Ptacek of Thief River Falls and Wanda (Lew) Wood of North Pole, Alaska; seven grandchildren; sister, Genevieve (John) Bowman of Minneapolis; brothers, Charles (Nona) Erickson of Alexandria and James (Marilyn) Erickson of Alexandria; brothers-in-law, Nels Holmberg of Thief River Falls,  Wallace Ptacek of Thief River Falls, Harold (Ione) Ptacek, Babbitt; and sister-in-law, Louise Breznay of Thief River Falls; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
 She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie on February 11, 1983; parents, John and Anna Erickson; step-mother, Esther Erickson; sister, Edla Holmberg; brother and sister-in-law, Mendell and Dorothy Erickson; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Ardith Ptacek; and brother in law George Breznay.  A00003B2005AR13
