Thief River Falls - Aggie Gilbert, 86, died Thursday, March 31, 2005 at Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, April 3 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, with Rev. Phil Schmidt officiating. Interment was held on Tuesday, April 5, at Riverview Cemetery in Chamberlain, S.D.
Aggie Herrington Gilbert was born February 27, 1919 to Everett and Ida Mae (Smith) Herrington in Baxley, Ga. She attended high school in Baxley. She worked on the family farm until going to Jacksonville, Fla., to work in a drug store.
On June 26, 1943, Aggie married George Gilbert, where he was stationed in the Navy in Jacksonville, Fla.
They moved to Wasco, Calif., in 1945, then to Chamberlain, S.D. in 1952. She worked in the office, for Gilbert’s Apartments and Mobile Home Sales.
Aggie was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Episcopal Church in Chamberlain, SD. She enjoyed flower gardening and sewing.
Survivors include her husband, George; two sons, Roger (Jackie) of Topeka, Kan. George Jr. of Las Vegas, Nev.; a daughter, Betty (Ken) Johnson of Thief River Falls; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers and three sisters. A00003B2005AR06
