St. Paul - Mildred (Langlie) Oseth, 76, formerly of Newfolden, died on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 in St. Paul.
Funeral services were held on Friday, March 4 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in St. Paul.
Mildred Langlie was born in Newfolden on September 27, 1928, the third of seven brothers and sisters, Ion, Howard, Millie, Dennis, Gale, Gloria and Mavis. She was preceded in death by her brother Dennis and her parents, Hans and Thora Langlie.
Millie lived on the farm in Newfolden until she graduated from high school in 1946. She moved to Thief River Falls where she went to nursing school. After that, she moved to Minneapolis, where she met her future husband, Glen. They were married on July 22, 1950.
They moved to Waterloo, Iowa, where Glen worked at John Deere and Millie worked at St. Francis Hospital as a nurse. Sheila was born there. About two years later, they moved to St. Paul, where Gary, Diane and Nancy were born. She retired from the VA Medical Center after 25 years of service as a nurse. Millie and Glen resided in St. Paul for 52 years, with Pilgrim Lutheran Church the entire time.
Millie went to Merriam Park Community Center for exercise class three times a week for the last five years. She really enjoyed trips to the casino a few times a year and really loved to shop.
Millie would be the one everyone would go to for advice when they had a problem. She was always patient, never angry and always had the right answer for everyone. She also had a great sense of humor.
She always took excellent care of everyone, especially her husband, no matter how weak or tired she was becoming. She never complained.
Millie is survived her children, Glen, Sheila, Gary, Diane and Nancy; 11grandchildren, ages 15 to 25; and one great-grandchild, eight months of age. A00003B2005MR23
