Climax - Lawrence Gunderson 69, of Climax, died on Thursday, March 17, 2005 at the Halstad Living Center in Halstad.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 24 at the Climax Lutheran Church in Climax. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23 at the Climax Lutheran Church, with a 7 p.m. prayer service. Interment wil be held at Highland Cemetery in Buxton.
Lawrence Olaf Gunderson was born on August 1, 1935 in Fargo, N.D., the son of Casper and Laura (Dvergsten) Gunderson.
He lived in the Hillsboro, N.D., Thief Rivers Falls and Crookston areas and attended the Crookston Agriculture College, and worked in Minneapolis, for Concrete Construction, then worked Seasonal Campaigns for American Crystal Sugar in Crookston.
On October 28, 1967 he was united into marriage to DeEtta Hoberg in Newfolden and then moved to Warren. In 1979 they moved to Climax. where he was a self employed mason and bricklayer.
Cherished family members include his wife DeEtta of Climax; three sons, Chad (Shannon Hall) Gunderson and Dean Gunderson, both of Climax, Scott of Yorkstown, Va.; two grandchildren; one sister, Adeline (Ted) Nordheim of Fertile; two brothers, Arnold (Alice Jacobson) Gunderson of Ada, Orville (Donna) Gunderson of Hendrum, and one sister-in-law, Joan Gunderson of Thief River Falls.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Donald and an infant sister Marjorie.
