 Kerrick - Jerome Allan Lappegaard, 63, formerly of Thief River Falls, died on Saturday, March 12, 2005 at his home in Kerrick.
 Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 16 at Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home in Moose Lake, with Mike Keyport officiating. Private family interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Kerrick.   
  He was born on May 29, 1941 in Thief River Falls. The son of DeWein and Alice (Olson) Lappegaard.  Jerry attended school in Thief River and upon completion of school entered into the construction industry. Jerry worked for many construction firms throughout the U.S. and was a member of The International Union of Operating Engineers Local 49 for 45 years. 
 Jerry was foreman for many construction firms, but his love was operating backhoes. Jerry loved adventure and work took him to one of the harshest continents in the world, Antarctica. It was here that Jerry worked for the National Science Foundation for nine seasons.
 Jerry loved working on old cars, hunting, fishing, NASCAR, Jeeping, spending time with his grandchildren, entertaining family and friends, bon-fires, travel, and taking walks out to the backfields with coffee cup in hand to contemplate the days events.
 Jerry’s first marriage was to Dawnalytah and they had two children: Darick and Dawnalysa.  Jerry’s second marriage was to Christy Eftemoff on February 14, 1986 in Las Vegas, Nev..
 Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Christy; son, Darick (fiancée’ Marsha Seals) of Moose Lake; daughter, Dawnalysa (fiancé’ Tim Nephew) of Sturgeon Lake; father, DeWein of Goodridge; sisters, LouAnn (Charlie) Kiesow of Goodridge, Arlene (Duane) Bjerke of St. Cloud, Ramona (David) Burczyk of St. Cloud, Darla (Larry) Schermer of Maple Lake; brother, Dale (Jody) Lappegaard of Sauk Rapids; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends including sister-in-laws, Shelly (Rick) Scheller, Kathy (Don) Wood, Bonnie (Guy) Glad; Connie Wiersum, Karen Woodward, Renee (Chris) Willour; brother-in-law, Steve (Josie) Eftemoff and their families; half-sisters, Kathy Rekow of St. Paul, Marcy Fairbanks of St. Paul, Samantha Lappegaard of Goodridge; half brother, Duane Lappegaard of St. Paul and special friends: Richard Pietz and Michelle Lappegaard.
 Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Lappegaard; sisters: Patricia Heaton and Mary Ann Weyer; a younger brother, Daniel “Danny” Lappegaard and his godson, Matthew Wood.
