Dunseith, N.D. - Angelique Olmscheid, 65, died on Wednesday, March 9, 2005 on arrival at a Belcourt, N.D. hospital.
Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, March 14, at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Dunseith, N.D. Interment was held at the church cemetery. Officiating the service was Rev. Father Dale Craig S.O.L.T. Casket bearers included Kelly Gillis, Mike Gillis, Joe Gillis Jr., Harold Gillis, John Belgarde Jr. and Sheldon Williams.
Angelique Olmscheid, the daughter of John and Lucy (Davis) Gillis, was born on July 16, 1939 in Belcourt, N.D. She was reared and attended school in the area. After completion of her education, she worked in Belcourt, at the plant management office. She was married to Ralph Olmsheid in Watertown, S.D. They moved to Detroit Lakes, where she worked with the Job Corps and then as a real estate agent. Then they moved to Thief River Falls for a time. In 1991, they moved to Dunseith, N.D., where she began working for Turtle Mountain Manufacturing. Ralph died on May 15, 1998. Angelique continued to make Dunseith, N.D., her home.
She was a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church of Dunseith, N.D.
She is survived by her grandson, Kerry Koestner; and a son-in-law, Bob Koestner, both of Thief River Falls; sisters, Viola Grinnell and Mary Ann Hamley, both of Belcourt, N.D., Margaret Belgarde of Dunseith, N.D., Geri Luhr of Great Falls, Mont., and Phyllis Schock of Fairbanks, Ala.; brothers, Clifford Gillis and Peter Gillis, both of Dunseith, Fred Gillis of Aberdeen, S.D., Joseph Gillis of Parshall, N.D. and John Gillis of Lawrence, Kan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Kerry; one daughter, Arlene Koestner; and brothers, Frank, Raymond and Dave; and sister, Mildred Crasco.
