Pine Island - Eleanor Magnuson, 85, formerly of Thief River Falls, died on Monday, February 21, 2005 at Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 24, 2005 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, with Pastor Gerry Eggers officiating. Interment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23 (today) at the Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
Eleanor Louise Peterson was born June 28, 1919 to Hjalmer and Emma (Kuehne) Peterson in Holt. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1937.
On November 1, 1941, Eleanor was united in marriage to Malcolm Magnuson in Riverside, Calif. She worked for the TRF Times for about five years.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. Eleanor enjoyed sewing, knitting, and playing whist. She took pleasure in spending time with family.
Survivors include one son, Michael (Heidi) of Pine Island; two daughters, Judy (Robert Charles) Knapp of Fort Atkinson, Wis., and Linda (Gail) Anderson of Nisswa; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Glenn “Pete” (Joan) Peterson of Thief River Falls, and one sister, Lorna (Joseph) Moline of Green Bay, Wis.
Preceded in death by husband, Malcolm, February 22; her parents; and one brother Arthur.
