 Oklee - Abner Maattala, 94, died at First Care Medical Services in Fosston, on Friday, February 18, 2005.
 Funeral service will be held at  2 p.m. on Saturday, February 26, at Johnson Funeral Service in Oklee, with Rev. Richard Sliper officiating. Interment will be held at Finnish Cemetery in rural Plummer. Casket bearers include Diane Puro Schrader, Al Iverson, Dale Iverson, Deron Puro, Daro Maattala and Enson Maattala.
 Visitation will be one hour prior to service at Johnson Funeral Service on Saturday.
 Abner Daniel Maattala was born December 11, 1910 in Virginia, Minn., the son of John Gust and Hilja Emelia (Uimonen) Maattala. In 1920, he moved with his family to Oklee, where he has farmed all of his life.
 Abner served on the Board of Directors for Oklee Co-op Oil Association. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading.
 Survivors include his sister, Ebba Kral of Bloomington; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.
 He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Leo.
