 Thief River Falls - Madeline Johanna Forst, 84, died on February 10, 2005 at her home in Thief River Falls.
 Funeral services were held on Friday, February 18, at the Helgeson Funeral Chapel in Roseau, with Rev. Erling Huglen officiating. Interment was held at the Gust National Cemetery in Strathcona.
 Madeline Johanna Forst, the daughter of Agnes (Sulc) and Frank Kopecky was born on July 3, 1920 in Poplar Grove Township of Roseau County. She grew up in Poplar Grove Township and attended school at the Benwood School.  She and Laddie Forst were united in marriage on July 2, 1940 and had celebrated 50 years of marriage.
 They lived in Benwood, where they raised turkeys and owned the North Star Pavilion, where they held dances. Madeline and Laddie moved to Thief River Falls in 1984 and in July of 2004, she moved into an apartment. She enjoyed flowers and gardening. She belonged to the Western Fraternal organization (ZCBJ) Lodge in Benwood.
 She is survived by her son, Laddie (Roxann) Forst of Warroad; three grandchildren, Darrin, Brooke (Chad) and Robyn (Richard); nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
 She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two infant sons; one grandson; five brothers, Frank, Jerry, Vincent, Joe, and Adolph; and four sisters, Frances, Agnes, Rosie and Mary.
