Thief River Falls - Travis Flom, 16, died on Monday, February 14, 2005 as a result of a snowmobile accident.
Funeral services were held on Friday, February 18 at Community the Church in Thief River Falls, with Rev. Curtis Jacobson officiating. Casket bearers included Jon Larson, Steve Umber, Doug Eaton, Cody Walseth, Ryan Bunnell, Josiah Westerman, Josh Guillemette and Jacob Guillemette. Honorary casket bearers included all of Travis’ family and friends.
Travis Steven Flom was born June 19, 1988 in Grand Forks, N.D., the son of DelRay and Jodi (Nygaard) Flom. He was dedicated as a baby. He grew up and attended Challenger and Franklin Schools and the last years he was home schooled. He worked for Tom Ramsey, putting up grain bins and also for Stan Tvedt, cutting trees.
He played basketball for the Cyclones and soccer for Community Church Eagles. He enjoyed hunting and snowmobiling. He also liked paint ball games, cooking deer steak and beef jerky and anything Arctic Cat or with wheels.
Survivors include his parents, DelRay and Jodi Flom of Thief River Falls; brothers and sisters, Tiffany, Tyler and Trevor Flom, Andrea Tydlacka and foster brother, Jesse Carlson, all of Thief River Falls; grandparents, John and Sharon Flom and Don and Rose Nygaard, all of Thief River Falls; aunts and uncles, Laureen (Randy) Brotzman, Loudeen (David) Rensch, Gwen Flom, Donna (Don Heaney) Gaskins and Marianne Hay; cousins, Cassandra, Kendra, Amanda, Michael, Joseph, Tayler, Jeremy, Holly, Dylan and Isaac and special friend, Laurah Kelley.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents and an uncle in infancy. A00003B2005FB23
