 Hibbing - Anna Elisa Westberg, 84 died on Sunday, January 30, 2005, at the Leisure Hills Nursing Home in Hibbing.
  Funeral services were held on Thursday, February 3, at United Lutheran Church in Gatzke, with Pastor Jim Field officiating.  Casket bearers included D. Eric Westberg, S. Leif Westberg, Paulette Kampsen, Darell Westberg Jr., Robin Borwege, Laura Dahl, Keven Westberg,      Dusten Westberg, Peter Westberg, Dana Frider, Daniel Koski and             Donavon Dahl. Honorary casket beares included the Gatzke Senior Citizens Group. Interment was held at Moose River Cemetery in Gatzke.
  Anna Elisa Westberg, the daughter of the late Emil and Pauline (Wolden) Dahl, was born on March 8, 1920, in Rollis Twp. of Marshall Co., near Gatzke.   She attended school and grew to womanhood there, and was baptized and confirmed at the United Lutheran Church in Gatzke. On February 5, 1939, Anna was united in marriage to Evert Westberg in Middle River.  They farmed on Randeen Ridge near Evert’s home farm until 1941, then moved to a farm in Rollis Twp., near Gatzke and farmed there until 1951. They moved to Hibbing, with their two sons, Duane and Darell. While in Hibbing, two more children were born, Dayle and Dianne. While Evert worked in the mines, Anna worked with Our Savior Lutheran Church in Hibbing in various capacities. They remained in Hibbing until Evert’s retirement in 1976. They then moved back to the farm near Gatzke.
 Anna was an active member of the United Lutheran Church and in the Ladies Groups, as well as serving as secretary/treasurer and president of the Gatzke Senior Citizens.  Anna enjoyed her friendships and quilting and crocheting at Gatzke Seniors. In 2000, they moved to Thief River Falls, and in 2001 to Grygla. Anna resided at the Leisure Hills Nursing Home in Hibbing for a short time. Anna, 84 died  Sunday, January 30, 2005, at the Leisure Hills Nursing Home in Hibbing.
 She is survived by her husband, Evert; two sons, Duane of St. Cloud and Dayle of Shingletown, Calif..; one daughter, Dianne (Gary) Koski of Side Lake; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Elmer of Argyle,  Arvin (Marvel)  and Larry (Erma), both of Middle River; two sisters, Mavis (Norman) Roppe of Strathcona and Janet (Duane) Lian of Grygla; one special friend, Karyl Larson; in addition to several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. 
 Anna was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Darell; brother, Orlan; and two sisters, Cora and Esther.  A00003B2005FB09
