Hastings - Eleanor Johnson, 90, died on Sunday, January 30, 2005, at Regina Medical Center, Hastings.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 5, at Our Saviour’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hastings, with Rev. Doug Duin officiating. Casket bearers included Tim McMahon, Tom McMahon, Ray Orbell, Dan Gilbert, Robert Giambelluca, Matthew Giambelluca, John Cremers, David Cremers and Paul Johnson.
Graveside Services were held on Monday, February 7, at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, with Rev. Wesley Langaas officiating.
Eleanor Otilie Rupprecht was born September 3, 1914 in Goodridge, the daughter of Robert and Annie (Simonson) Rupprecht. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. She grew up and attended Big Grove School near Goodridge. Eleanor worked on the family farm in her early years and was a waitress at the Rex Café and Palm Garden Café both in Thief River Falls.
On June 28, 1936, Eleanor was united in marriage to Willis R. Johnson at the parsonage in Thief River Falls.
Survivors include her daughters, Shirley (Michael) McMahon of Crystal and Terri (Garry) Kenyon of Ellsworth, Wis.; sons, Robert (Donna) Johnson of Hastings and Dennis (Sharon) Johnson of Fountain Hills, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Wilma Kraemer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis on January 25, 1989; her father, Robert Rupprecht and her mother, Annie (Simonson) Rupprecht. A00003B2005FB09
