Henning - Ollie J. Ellingson, 84, of Henning, died Monday, January 24, 2005 at Lake Region Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 5, at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Battle Lake. Interment will be held at Our Saviors Cemetery in McIntosh. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to services.
He was born March 10, 1920 in Medford, Saskatchewan, Canada to Ira and Elva (Ledford) Ellingson. In 1921 he moved with his family to Winger.
He was married to Audrey Olson in 1942 in Casselton, N.D. They lived in Thief River Falls, where he worked at the Creamery. In 1965 they moved to Minneapolis and he worked at Dalton Gear. He retired in 1986. They then moved to Delano, and in 1992 he was the Wright County senior citizen volunteer of the year. In 1998 they moved to Alexandria, where they lived until moving to Henning in 2003. He became a resident of the Henning Health Care Center soon after.
He enjoyed a good cup of coffee with family and friends. He was blessed with a strong relationship with his Lord Jesus all of his life and was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey of Henning; a daughter, Margaret (Alan) Harder of Battle Lake; two sons, Jim (Joani) Ellingson of Onamia, and David (Lou Ann) Ellingson of Battle Lake; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Gerald Ellingson and a sister, Arlene Tenny, both of Omaha, Neb.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ivey and an infant brother. A00003B2005FB02
