 Whitman, N.D. - George P. Sandford, 91, of Whitman, N.D., died at the Lakota Good Samaritan Home on September 14, 2004.
  Funeral services were held at the Lakota Community Center on Monday, Sept. 20. Interment was held at the family plot at Inkster Cemetery.
 George was born on March 25, 1913, to Archie and Marjane (Emerson) at the family farm home in Sarnia Township, Nelson County, N.D. He attended school in Whitman, N.D., and Park River Agricultural School. He farmed the family farm for 66 years. He established the Vermeer implement business at the farm in 1972 and very much enjoyed contact with his many customers through the years.
 George Sandford married Doris K. Ormiston on October 14, 1943.
 George is survived by seven children:LeRoy Sandford of Oakley, Kan., Deloris (Rodney) Larson of Thief River Falls, Spence (Mary-Ann) Sandford of Crary, N.D., Dean (Deborah) Sandford of Spearfish, S.D., Ruth (Ralph) Houkom of Tucson, Ariz., Phil (Karen) Sandford of Michigan, N.D., and Grace (Lyle) Burchill of Hope, N.D; 18 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
 He was preceded by two brothers, William and James; and his parents.   A00003B2004SP22
