Lancaster - Eleanore Olson, 68, of Lancaster, died of injuries she received in an automobile accident near Greenbush on Tuesday, January 4, 2005.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 8, at the Evangelical Mission Covenant Church in Kennedy. Interment was held at Riverside Cemetery in Lake Bronson, with Rev. Steve Thompson presiding. Casket bearers included Eleanore’s grandsons. Honorary casket bearers included Eleanore’s granddaughters.
Eleanore Ellen Thompson was born near Karlstad on April 1, 1936, the daughter of Sivert and Carrie (Hanson) Thompson. She grew up in Karlstad and attended school there. On July 31, 1952, she married Hjalmer Olson in Hallock. They settled near Lancaster and farmed there. Hjalmer died on November 27, 1994.
Family members include two sons, Leon (Bonnie) Olson of Lancaster and Glen (Rosalie) Olson of Badger; a daughter, Virginia Olson of Lancaster; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Norman (Wanda) Thompson of Grafton, N.D., Duane Thompson of Seymour, Ind., and Jerry Thompson of Sturgeon Bay, Wis.; three brothers, Hjalmer, Clifford and her twin brother, Elmer; sisters, Joyce, Annie, Clarice, Gladys and Yvonne as well as nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Hjalmer; three brothers, Hjalmer, Clifford and her twin brother, Elmer; and sisters, Joyce, Annie, Clarice, Gladys and Yvonne.
