  Greenbush - Conrad Olson, 87, of Greenbush, formerly of Strathcona, died on Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at the Greenbush Nursing Home. 
  Funeral Services were held on Saturday, January 8 at First Lutheran Church of Middle River, with Pastor Curtis Matz officiating. Casket Bearers included Verne Nelson, Kenny Hanson, Jerry Strandberg, Gary Zwilling, Henry Hayenga and Curtiss Johnson.  Honorary casket bearers included Conrad’s Grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Military Honors were provided by Hans Lian Post 444, American Legion of Middle River and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2793 of Thief River Falls. Interment was held at Greenwood Cemetery in Strathcona.
  Conrad I. Olson, the son of Iver and Marie (Svegdahl) Olson, was born April 2, 1917 in Lind Township, Roseau County, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. He spent his early years inKeewatin and later moved to the farm in Huntley Township, Marshall County. He was united in marriage to Alma Kolberg in Middle River on December 6, 1941. 
 Conrad served in the U. S. Army during WW II in the Pacific Theatre. On his return from the service, the couple made their home on the family farm in rural Strathcona, where they raised their two sons, Chester and Leonard.  Conrad and Alma also raised a second family, Chester and Janice’s children, Dale, Lanae and LeAnn.
 Conrad enjoyed many things during his lifetime. He especially liked deer hunting and ice fishing.  His favorite holiday was Christmas.  His passion was his family, who he loved so dearly. His neighbors and friends were very special to him.  This tall, gentle man, so many referred to as “Pa”, will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
 Conrad is survived by his wife of 63 years, Alma of Greenbush; son, Leonard (Nancy) of Middle River; special niece, JoAnne White of Greenbush; six grandchildren;  11 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Agnes Olson of Gilbert; brothers-in-law, Anneus Nelson of Thief River Falls, Melvin (Marion) Kolberg, Rudy (Verla) Kolberg and Earl Kolberg, all of Roseau, Kenneth Kolberg of Warroad; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
 He was preceded in death by son Chester and daughter-in-law Janice; his parents; brothers, Nels, Gilbert and Oscar; sisters, Tina Stahlberg, Mabel Hanson and Bertina Strandberg Nelson.
