 Fergus Falls - Rueben Christofferson, 87, a resident of Fergus Falls and formerly of Thief River Falls, died on Sunday, December 19, 2004 at the Pioneer Retirement Community in Fergus Falls.
 Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 22 (today), at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, with Rev. Paul Nelson  officiating. Interment is planned at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.
 He was born on July 28, 1917, in Thief River Falls, the son of Carl and Anna (Skomedahl) Christofferson. He grew up in Thief River Falls, where he graduated from Lincoln High School in 1935.
 On October 4, 1940, he married Helene Storhaug in Thief River Falls. In 1943, he entered the United States Army Air Corp. He was stationed at Kimbolton Field in England as a tail gunner in a B-17. He flew 36 missions over Germany and received a Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1945. After his discharge, he worked in car sales and grocery sales for Nash Finch Company. In 1957, Rueben moved to Fergus Falls where he worked as a petrolium inspector for the State of Minnesota, retiring in 1979.
 Rueben was a membe of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, the VFW and the American Legion. He was an avid sportsman who loved to hunt and fish. He and his wife shared ownership of a hunting cabin near Itasca Park for many years.
  Preceding him in death were his parents, Carl and Anna; his wife Helene; brother, Alvin; and two sisters, Mabel and Florence.
 Survivors include his daughter, Susan Knutson and her husband, Art of Hudson, Wis.; sister, Eleanor (Peter) Bradley of Thief River Falls; sister-in-law, Eleanor Christofferson of Thief River Falls; nephew, Gary Christofferson of St. Paul; and close friend of 10 years, Lucille Harry of Fergus Falls.
