Thief River Falls - Dale Shooltz, Sr., 59, died on Friday, December 17, 2004 at Fairview University Medical Center in Minneapolis.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 22 (today), at 1 p.m., at the Johnson Funeral Service Chapel in Thief River Falls, with Rev. Robert Dahlen Officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Wednesday.
Dale Leo Shooltz Sr. was born January 14, 1945 in Royal Oak, Mich., the son of Leo and Frances (Hall) Shooltz. He attended school at Madisson Heights High School, graduating in 1963. On April 21, 1966 Dale was united in marriage to Donna Joyce Dora in Michigan where the couple made their home. Dale worked as a gas station manager, and also worked in the woods. The couple moved to Minnesota in 1976, lived in Walker, then LaPorte, Bemidji then to Thief River Falls in 1983, where they have since resided.
Dale enjoyed playing music, the trombone, he was an avid professional Detroit teams fan, he also enjoyed working with model cars and fishing.
Dale is survived by his wife Donna of Thief River Falls, one daughter, Merlie (fiancé David Grosz) Leas of Grand Forks, ND; one son Dale Jr. (fiancé Amy Brossart) Shooltz of Badger; one grandson; and one sister, Audrey Harwood of Madisson Heights, Mich..
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Gene; and three sisters Joyce, Bernice and Shirley. A00003B2004DC22
