Thief River Falls - Orlynn “Lonnie” Nyflot, 48, died on Monday, December 13, 2004 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, December 16, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, with Rev. Terry Olson officiating. Casket bearers included Scott Hickerson, Bob Koestner, Adam Tongen, Al Melbye, Jeff Nyflot and Dallas Nyflot. Interment was held at Rindal Cemetery in New Solum Township, Marshall County.
Orlynn Lonnie Nyflot was born on February 15, 1956 in Thief River Falls, the son of Oscar and LaVerne (Opland) Nyflot. He was baptized on April 3, 1956 and confirmed on April 19, 1970. Lonnie attended Grade School in Lake Bronson, and Karlstad High School, graduating in 1974.
Lonnie was united in marriage to Janice Wold on November 18, 1978 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls.
He worked in the family business from 1974-1981 with his dad, Oscar, and brother, Jeff. This included Lake Bronson Creamery, Valley Dairy, Valley 24 and Valley Auto in Thief River Falls. From 1981-1987 he worked at Big A Auto Parts and Westside Motors. In 1987 Lonnie and Jan built Amoco 24 in Thief River Falls, which he owned and managed until 2004.
Lonnie enjoyed cars, racing go-carts, motorcycle trips with his brother, Jeff and nephew Dallas, snowmobiling and anything with a motor. Lonnie especially loved spending time with friends, family and his dog, Louie. Lonnie loved dogs, was very kind and was always ready to help his friends and enjoyed visiting with everyone.
Lonnie is survived by his wife, Jan of Thief River Falls; their faithful dog, Louie; his parents, Oscar and LaVerne Nyflot of Thief River Falls; one sister, Cindy Nyflot of Fargo, N.D.; one brother, Jeff (Carla) Nyflot; nephew, Dallas and niece, Kimberly, all of Karlstad; mother-in-law, Lenore Wold of Thief River Falls; two brothers-in-law, Bob (Patti) Wold of Thief River Falls and Richard Wold of Thief River Falls; sister-in-law, Lynette Wold of Albuquerque, N.M.; and many friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Ole and Elizabeth Nyflot and Conrad and Anna Opland; and father-in-law, Reuben Wold. A00003B2004DC22
