Bagley - John Sanford Norman, 86, of Bagley, died on Monday, November 22, 2004 at Greensview Care Center in Bagley. Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 27, at the Solway Bible Chapel in Solway, with the Rev. David Smith officiating. Interment was held at the Sinclair Township Cemetery in Leonard. John was born May 26, 1918 in St. Hilaire, the son of John and Margaret (Rydberg) Norman, immigrants of Sweden. He grew up in the St. Hilaire area and graduated from St. Hilaire High School in 1937. He farmed there until purchasing his own farm in the Leonard area in 1953. On June 9,1954, he married Ilet Stenlund. He served on the Leonard Cooperative Creamery Board and the Dudley Township Board. He entered Greensview in October 2001, and has resided there since. He is survived by a step-son, Bruce (Lynda) Stenlund of Paso Robles, Calif.; daughters, Suzanne (Robert) Binder of Shevlin, Juanita (David) Zimmerman of Mahnomen, Wendy Kihlstadius of Two Harbors; one son, Steven (Julie) Norman of Shevlin; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one brother, Lewis Norman of Bemidji. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ilet; sisters, Minnie, Lillian, and Echo; brothers, Andrew, Edgar, George, Yngvie, Thule, and James; and grandson, Seth. A00003B2004DC01 |
