Greenbush - Ann Stella Pakuer, 91, died on Saturday, November 13, 2004 at the Greenbush Community Nursing Center.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, November 17, at Blesses Sacrament Catholic Church in Greenbush. Casket bearers included Don Stanislawski, A.J. Pulczinski, LeRoy Pulczinski, Bill Stanislawski, Harold Stanislawski and Jeff Stanislawski. Honorary casket bearers included Ann’s nursing home friends. Interment was held at St. Aloysius Church Cemetery in Leo.
Ann Stella Pakuer was born on July 8, 1913 in Leo, to Joseph and Regina (Mikowski) Stanislawski. She attended school and grew to womanhood in the Leo community and was baptized and confirmed at St. Aloysius Catholic Church of Leo.
Ann worked at the grocery store in Greenbush for a number of years before she and her sister Frances left from California. She was united in marriage on October 10, 1953 to Harold Pakuer in Burbank, where the two made their home.
She worked as a waitress in Burbank for many years before she and Harold moved back to Greenbush in August of 1989. Ann moved into the Greenbush Community Nursing Center in 1998.
Ann was a member of St. Ann’s Sodality and Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church of Greenbush. Throughout her life she was very involved in her church and very much enjoyed crafting.
Ann is survived by one sister, Elizabeth Landowski of Greenbush; and 12 nieces and nephews, among other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters, Frances Johnson, Agnes Pulczinski and Veronica Shoen; and four brothers, Felix, Johnnie, Frank, and Richard Stanislawski.
