 Spicer - Albert M. Kassa,  91, of Spicer, died Wednesday morning, November 17, at the GlenOaks Care Center in New London.
  Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, November 20, (today) at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Spicer with Fr. Fred Fink officiating. Interment was held at the church cemetery. 
 Albert Michael Kassa was born on December 11, 1912, near Goodridge, the son of Annie (Yedinak) and Michael Kassa. He was baptized at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thief River Falls and confirmed at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Goodridge. He grew up on the family farm in Reiner Township near Goodridge and received his education at the Lundwood Rural School. 
 On April 10, 1940, he was married to Emma Ruth Swanson at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thief River Falls. They farmed in the Goodridge and Thief River Falls areas until 1951, when they moved to Myrtle Creek, Ore., where he worked in the sawmills. In 1954, they returned to the Goodridge area where he farmed, worked at the local creamery hauling milk and finally managed the Midland Co-op Service Station for 10 years. 
 In 1982, they retired and moved to the Spicer area and managed the Kelly Egg Farm on Lake Florida. They moved into Spicer in 1995 and made their home at the Lake Plaza Condominium, where they had since lived. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, Eagles Aerie 2368 of Thief River Falls, charter member of the Goodridge Lions and a 22-year member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Spicer. Albert enjoyed ice fishing, card playing and had a special love and relationship with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a kind and gentle man who saw the best in other people.
 Albert is survived by his wife, Emma of Spicer; one daughter, Ruthanne (Dennis) Neeser of Willmar; two sons, Bruce (Arlene) Kassa of Clinton Corners, N.Y., and Timothy (Paulette) Kassa of Bemidji; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and one sister, Louise Morgan of Prescott, Ariz. 
 He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, James Wilson; three brothers, Joseph, Lawrence and Paul Kassa and two sisters, Agnes Rambeck and Margaret Erlitz.   A00003B2004NV24
