 Red Lake Falls - James Tvedt, 58, died on Saturday, November 13, 2004 while deer hunting at Glacier Ridge Refuge in Polk County.
  Mass of Christian burial will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, November 18, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, with Fr. Tim Bushy presiding. Interment will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
 Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Robert Matzke Gymnasium, LaFayette High School in Red Lake Falls, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
 James was born on December 2, 1945 in Thief River Falls, the son of Henry Sr. and Rose (Cook) Tvedt. He was baptized into the Catholic Faith and confirmed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls. He attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School and LaFayette High School in Red Lake Falls.
 On August 7, 1971, he was united in marriage to Linda T. Cardinal at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Following their marriage, they continued to reside in Red Lake Falls. Jim worked for School District 630 for 32 years as custodian. When he was younger, he worked for some area farmers. He also worked for the Red Lake County Highway Department.
 Jim was a dedicated family man, always spending time with his grandchildren, daughters and family. His grandsons were his “Little Buddies” and granddaughters were his “Sweet Peas.” Jim enjoyed spending time at Jerry Nelson’s farm, hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, cutting wood, gardening, playing horse shoes and playing cards with his on-in-law Bernie and his brother, Joe. Jim was always a hard worker, loyal to his job, and a good nurse for Linda when she wasn’t feeling well.
 Survivors include his wife Linda; children, Jennifer Tvedt of Crookston, Janelle Tvedt of Frazee, Jill and Bernie DeHate of Plummer, Joanie (Ryan) Longtin of Orlando, Fla.; seven grandchildren; brothers, Henry (Florence)  of Plummer, Kenneth (Marilyn) Tvedt of Wrenshal, Ole (Karen) of Red Lake Falls, Joe (Darlene) of Cloquet, John (Mary) of Mentor; father-in-law, Elmer “Pee Wee” Cardinal of Red Lake Falls; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joyce (Buckey) Wright of Fertile, Janice (Fred) Landman of Red Lake Falls, Roger (Sally) Cardinal of Red Lake Falls, Karen Audette of Crookston, David Cardinal (special friend Lou) of Kansas, Dean (Wanda) Cardinal of Red Lake Falls and Jay ( Carla) Cardinal of Red Lake Falls; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
 Jim was preceded in death by his parents; brother Jerome in infancy; two great-nieces; mother-in-law Theresa Cardinal; one niece; and brother-in-law Jerry Audette.
