Greenbush - Lillian Koehnlein, 82, of Greenbush, died on Monday, November 8, 2004 at the Greenbush Nursing Home.
Funeral Services were held on Friday, November 12 at United Free Lutheran Church of Greenbush with Pastor Ken Hart, officiating. Interment was held at the Lorenson Family Cemetery in Strathcona.
Lillian Koehnlein was born Lillian Eleanor Lorenson, the daughter of Rasmus and Esther (Strandberg) Lorenson, on October 30, 1922 in Huss Township, Roseau County, rural Strathcona. She grew up and attended rural school there. She married Edward Vacura Jr. on November 4, 1942 in Thief River Falls. They farmed in Barnett Township, Roseau County, near Greenbush, for many years. Edward Vacura died on May 4, 1977.
She married Melvin Koehnlein on October 2, 1982 in Greenbush. They farmed in Barnett Townhsip. Melvin died on June 27, 2003.
Survivors include three sons, Arlen Vacura of Greenbush, Ervin Vacura of Greenbush and Gary (Debby) Vacura of Greenbush; one daughter, Mavis Gonshorowski of Greenbush; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; four brothers, Edward Lorenson of Strathcona, Melvin (Jane) Lorenson of Greenbush, Eldor (Charmaine) Lorenson of Strathcona and Randall (Deloris) Lorenson of Strathcona; one sister, Lila (Kennis) Anderson of Greenbush; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by both husbands, a son-in-law, Gerald Gonshorowski; one brother, Clifford and his wife Dorothy Lorenson; one sister, Delores and her husband Edwin Stromlund, and sister-in-law, Violet Lorenson.
