East Gull Lake - Darryl E. Durgin, 68, resident of East Gull Lake, died on Thursday, November 4, 2004 at St. Cloud Hospital.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, November 9 at the Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa.
Darryl was born July 4, 1936 in Badger, to Vernon and Cora (Modahl) Durgin. He retired as deputy commissioner/chief engineer for the Minnesota Department of Transportation. He was the former district engineer for Mn/DOT in the Brainerd District.
Survivors include his wife, Charlene; children, Lindsey Durgin of Nevis, Kirby (Lori) Durgin of Nevis, Ryan Durgin of Bemidji, Amy Disterhaupt of Brainerd; six grandchildren; three brothers, David Durgin of Grand Forks, N.D., Dan and Scott Dowers of Thief River Falls.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Susie Miller; and stepfather, Ralph Dowers.
